Art Lab is sending a belated thank you for your support during our spring silent auction fundraiser. Thank you, it was
a great success, and that is due to your support - as parents, children, artists, donors and community members - of
the vision of arts being available to all. Thank you!
We are deep into summer already it seems...
July 4: Thank you all who walked with us, clapped for us, smiled and generally encouraged our efforts. We had fun.
Here are the directions for the paper kites we handed out along the way.
Art Lab Summer Mini Camp: For 3-7 year olds, August 18-22 from 10-12 at the Saugerties VFW on
Livingston St. $100 for the week. Sharon Penz and Zzoe Rowan will be hosting this week long camp
in shadow puppetry and related arts. Classes will include making recycled instruments, music,
creative dance, yoga, painting and shadow play. The two hours will be broken up into 2 classes with a
snack break in between. Enrollment will be limited so register soon. You can pick up a registration
form at our table at the Farmers Market or print one off of the website calendar page.

A note about Sharon and Zzoe and Gnomon Shadow Theatre. Art Lab is proud to showcase this incredible team and
the creative cauldron they cook-up together. We have gotten grants from the Dutchess County Arts Council, the
Puffin Foundation and are working on others to support their production this November of Shadows of the Catskills, a
shadow-puppet, music, dance performance of the legends and history of the Catskills.
Stop by the table at the Farmers Market and check out our website periodically to see what is going on with this great
venture and if you are interested in helping out in any way (e.g. publicity, local granting, play production) we would
love to have you join us. Check out their website to get a flavor of what we have to look forward to.
